CanLit for Kids books Ltd. has been in business since 1996, meeting the needs of school libraries all across Canada. Originally founded by Harry and Jean Jordan (two retired teacher-librarians from British Columbia), the tradition is being carried on by Bobbie Turner (retired teacher-librarian) and Glen Turnbull (retired teacher). How is CanLit different?	How does CanLit work?
Our professional staff of teacher-librarians and teachers, where ever possible, select only Canadian titles published within the previous 3-4 months. We read each title and for those books that meet our criteria, professionally developed teacher notes and lesson ideas are created and provided at no extra cost. We select book content, setting and themes that are Canadian and that address your curricular needs. We provide affordable books (discounted) sometimes within weeks of publication and ship these directly to your school. Each package of books can be customized for primary, elementary, middle or secondary schools. Substitute titles can be selected if you find you already have a particular book in the shipped package. We provide MARC records for all the books in the basic package, bookmarks, posters, Canadian flag spine labels. All for free. Books that are selected for delivery can be previewed on our web site prior to shipping so as to minimize returns of duplicates or unwanted books.	Each school year, teacher-librarians have the option of ordering 1, 2 or 3 pre-selected book packages (retail value of approximately $320.00 each). Packages are shipped in September, January and April of each year. Each package contains; approximately 20 newly published books (with a mix of fiction, non-fiction and picture books. Most of these are high quality hard cover books). Free teacher notes and summaries for each title, useful for introducing books to students or developing themes. Free materials such as posters, bookmarks, spine labels, author biographies, pamphlets and even some autographed books on occasion. Free MARC records Deep discounts! Option 1: Order all three packages for the school year and receive a 20% discount (savings of up to $180.00) Option 2: Order 1 or 2 of the three packages for the school year and receive a 15% discount (savings of up to $80.00) Recommend a colleague, who is new to CanLit For Kids.
